Hate Crimes Bill!!!

This is a very important call on all Christians in South Africa!

The Hate Crimes Bill is not only there to protect South African Citizens against hate crimes, but it is unfortunately also going to be utilized to criminalize the Scriptures and to declare certain Scriptures in the word of God as hate speech. This will seriously limit religious freedom in South Africa.

This is what Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe, said while briefing journalists on Wednesday’s fortnightly cabinet meeting:

The bill seeks to create the offences of hate crimes and hate speech and to put in place measures to prevent and combat these offences,”

– Jeff Radebe

Although this is true, he did not mention the hidden agenda behind this bill.

In short, there are three problems with the bill:

  1. Although it took the government 4 years to draft the bill, they only give the public 4 weeks (only 2 weeks left – 1 December) to evaluate and to comment on it. The short deadline is a serious problem as people will not have enough time to properly evaluate and comment on the bill. (The deadline was already reached when this post was updated on 9 January 2017)

  2. The definition of a “hate crime” is too broad. What exactly constitutes a hate crime? This broad definition will be misused by many people in order to achieve their hidden agendas and their goals.

  3. The bill, in its current form, can and will be utilized to criminalize Scriptures that condemn sin. This will also be utilized to legally declare certain Scriptures as hate speech. Although the Scriptures and preachers condemn the sin and not the sinner, this bill will be utilized to silence preachers and Christians. Preachers and Christians will never incite people to take inappropriate action against sinners. Transgressors could face heavy fines and between 3 to 10 years imprisonment and that will include Christian preachers.

The new bill is actually intended to limit constitutional freedom of religion and the Gospel of Jesus Christ spreading in South Africa.

This onslaught on Christianity is exactly what happened in the USA during the past eight years under the Barack Obama administration. We cannot allow this in South Africa.

Please read my post, “Wees gereed Suid-Afrika” which was a vision seen by Bessie Somers a few months ago warning our nation to be ready for what’s coming and to take the necessary action against this spiritual onslaught.

What can we do?

Never stop praying for our leaders, our government and our nation.

Objections:

The short deadline is a serious problem as people will not have enough time to properly evaluate and comment on the bill. The deadline should be significantly postponed.

The definition of a “hate crime” is too broad. What exactly constitutes a hate crime? This broad definition will cause serious complications, misunderstandings, and bias interpretations.

Although the Scriptures and preachers condemn the sin and not the sinner, this bill will be utilized to silence preachers and Christians although they will never incite people to take inappropriate action against people who live and act contrary to the Scriptures.

Please do not ignore this request.
